Following a truly diabolical opening half to the campaign, Monaco found themselves staring relegation in the face. A revival of sorts then saw them looking pretty safe. Having slumped again of late though they are now once again only three points clear of the bottom three with four games still to play. Another win would likely be enough, but they won't find it easy this weekend as in form Saint-Étienne come calling to the Stade Louis II.

Saint-Étienne saw off Monaco with a 2-0 win in the reverse of this fixture. The home side will take heart from the game here last season though which ended in a 1-0 Monaco success.

William Vainqueur, Pietro Pellegri, Cesc Fabregas, Jordi Mboula, Danijel Subasic and Stevan Jovetic are all out injured for the home side. Saint-Étienne will be without Gabriel Silva, Yannis Salibur and Kévin Monnet-Paquet.

Monaco have lost only one of their past six here but are now without a win in three, failing to score in each of their last two. They have scored more than once in only four of their seventeen home fixtures to date.

Saint-Étienne are going great guns with five wins in their last six. A run which has taken them all the way up to fourth in the standings and only three points adrift of Lyon in the race for the Champion's League. They have lost only two of their last nine on the road, scoring two or more in each of their last three.

We have to side with Saint-Étienne here. That carrot of Champion's League football is a big one and we fancy they will keep the momentum going with another three points.

Prediction: Monaco 1 - 2 Saint-Étienne
