Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla

Atletico Madrid will be hoping they can continue their unbeaten start to the season when they take on Sevilla at their all new Wanda Metropolitano stadium, the home of the Champions League Final in 2019, on Saturday. Atleti currently sit third in La Liga, four points behind leaders Barcelona after their opening five clashes, which has seen a return of three wins and two draws, including an impressive away victory over Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday evening. Sevilla are no slouches either, having grinded out four cleansheet wins. With just one goal conceded, it is Europe's second best defensive record after Dortmund. Can they keep out the French striker Antoine Griezmann?

Match Stats:

  • Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla
  • Shots: 8-6
  • Possession: 38%-62%
  • Corner kicks: 7-6

Atletico Madrid beat Sevilla to remain unbeaten in La Liga, as potential incoming striker Diego Costa watched.

Costa is set to rejoin Atletico from Chelsea in January, subject to personal terms and a medical, after the clubs agreed a fee for the Spain forward.

Atleti - at their new Wanda Metropolitano home - are doing fine without him for now and led when Yannick Carrasco rounded the keeper.

Antoine Griezmann smashed home their second from close range.
