Bournemouth vs Leicester

Three of the past four meetings have ended in draws, with Bournemouth winning the odd one out. Leicester wouldn't fancy prolonging this record as they seek to rectify what has been their joint-worst start to a EPL season (four points from six matches). Jamie Vardy will be vital as the speedy striker has scored thrice in six league appearances against the Cherries. His penalty against them in August 2015 marked the first of his record-breaking run of scoring in 11 straight EPL matches. He faces a hip assessment though. Vicente Iborra will be ready to fill in should Vardy not make it.

Match Stats:

  • Bournemouth 0-0 Leicester
  • Shots: 18-5
  • Possession: 56%-44%
  • Corner kicks: 7-5

Bournemouth failed to make their dominance count as they and Leicester City played out a goalless draw at Vitality Stadium.

Both sides created chances in the first half, with Jermain Defoe going closest for the Cherries, hitting the woodwork early on.

AFC Bournemouth had more shots but Jamie Vardy and Christian Fuchs also had efforts on goal for Leicester.

The second half continued in a similar vein, with the home side edging it as both teams pushed for a goal.

Shortly after Riyad Mahrez had a shot blocked, AFC Bournemouth substitute Ryan Fraser saw his effort suffer a similar fate in stoppage time.

The Cherries remain 19th with four points, whilst Leicester are 17th with 10.
