Denmark vs Romania

Denmark will host Romania in their final Group E 2018 World Cup qualifier at Telia Parken on Sunday evening.
The Danes have been in sensational form heading into this clash. Four wins on the bounce which included 4-0 victories over group leaders Poland and Armenia and a 1-0 victory away to Montenegro have seem them take control of second spot.
Both teams played out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture, and a result of that genre will be enough to give Denmark a playoff spot. Christian Eriksen has been the star performer for the Danes in the qualifiers, finding the back of the net seven times in nine apperances.

Denmark endured a frustrating first half with a goal from Nicklas Bendtner ruled out for offside. TV replays showed otherwise.

Christian Eriksen finally scored with a penalty on the hour mark after Cristian Ganea had hauled down Bendtner.

Ganea, who was booked, earned his second yellow card minutes later for dragging down Yussuf Poulsen.

However, Ciprian Deac scored late to salvage a 1-1 draw for Romania.

Denmark, with 20 points, gets a playoff spot as one of the eight best runners-up from Europe's nine groups.

Montenegro finished with 16 points, ahead of Romania on 13.
