Newport vs Leeds

The year 1949 marked both sides' last FA Cup meeting. Newport won 3-1 that day.

Curiously, they also met in the League Cup this season, which Leeds took the bragging rights. 1996 was the last time Leeds knocked out the same opponent from the FA Cup and League Cup in the same season. The unfortunate victims were Derby County.

League Two side Newport are likely to recall centre-half Mark O'Brien after he completed a three-game ban.

Striker Paul Hayes could make his debut, while the club hopes to sign two new players in time for the game.

Leeds striker Jay-Roy Grot will make his third start of the season for the Championship club, with a number of younger players also set to feature.

Defenders Tom Pearce, Liam Kitching and Oriol Rey may be in the squad along with 17-year-old striker Jack Clarke.

Prediction: Newport 0-2 Leeds

League Two Newport County dumped Championship side Leeds United out of the FA Cup thanks to Shawn McCoulsky's late header at a rocking Rodney Parade.

McCoulsky's winner in the 89th minute was deserved reward for the home side, who were superb throughout.

Conor Shaughnessy's own goal drew them level with 15 minutes remaining after Gaetano Berardi's deflected ninth-minute opener for the visitors.

Leeds' misery was completed when Samuel Saiz was sent off in time added on.

Newport's dramatic recovery caps an incredible few months for the Exiles, who only stayed in the Football League last season with a winner in the closing stages of their final match of the campaign.

Their last-gasp heroics continued against Leeds in a win that will be remembered in south Wales for years.
