Real Madrid vs Deportivo

Curiously, Real Madrid are now technically closer to relegation than they are to Barcelona in the title race. 19 points is the buffer separating the two La Liga giants.

After a shock 1-0 reverse to Villarreal last weekend, Real won't be able to stomach another gut-wrenching defeat. Fortunately for them, Deportivo aren't faring too well, sitting 18th in the table with just one win in their last seven games.

Deportivo having won just one of their last 32 La Liga games at the Bernabeu.

But it is has to be noted Madrid have failed to find the back of the net in half of their last eight games, and that runs parallel to the ailing form of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is enduring his worst scoring drought in the white colours of Madrid.

The Portuguese striker has found the back of the net just four times in the league this season. In a bid to freshen up his squad, Zinedine Zidane left out the BBC in Thursday's 1-0 Spanish Cup quarter-final win against Leganes.

Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo both scored twice as Real Madrid won a league match for the first time since 9 December with a thumping win over Deportivo La Coruna.

Adrian Lopez tapped in the opener for Deportivo, but Nacho soon levelled with a clinical strike.

Bale curled in a superb second for Real before making it 3-1 with a header.

Luka Modric struck from distance, and a Ronaldo double and another Nacho goal completed the scoring.

Victory moved Real back into the top four but they are 19 points behind leaders Barcelona.
