FC Barcelona needed the heroics of Gerard Pique to draw 1-1 versus bitter rivals Espanyol last weekend to remain undefeated in La Liga. Their lead on Atletico Madrid was cut by two points, but they are still nine points ahead so the title isn't in jeopardy yet.

Getafe are 11th in the league and have not faired well outside of Madrid and are currently on an eight game winless streak away from home. Chances are that they'll return home without any points.

Barcelona may be without Gerard Pique, who picked up a knock during the Espanyol match. With Thomas Vermaelen also injured, Javier Mascherano leaving for China, and Samuel Umtiti suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, it is up to Ernesto Valverde to decide who to play in the heart of defense. The prime candidates to form the center back duo are Sergi Busquets to drop from defensive midfield and Yerry Mina to make his debut for Barcelona after arriving during the January transfer window. It will be interesting to see if the Colombian is chosen to start this match. He has no previous experience in European football, but Getafe might be the perfect opposition for Mina to debut against. It shouldn't be a complicated match for Barcelona, so this is a good game to let Mina get his feet wet and gain experience before the most crucial matches of the season roll around in the upcoming months.

Getafe escaped the Camp Nou with a point after drawing 0-0 with Barcelona.

The first half was a dull affair; neither side created many clear cut opportunities to open the scoring.

Yerry Mina, making his first start for Barcelona since arriving in January, almost cost his team a goal when trying to play out of the back. His pass at midfield went straight to an opposing player and Getafe broke on a counter attack. Luckily for Mina and Barcelona, Sergio Busquets tracked back and put out the fire by intercepting a pass attempted for Angel Rodriguez.

Barcelona thought they had opened the scoring at the end of the half when Luis Suarez volleyed a Lionel Messi free kick into the net, but the linesman correctly signaled for offside.

Philippe Coutinho twice tested Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita at the beginning of the second half. The Brazilian, playing on the left, cut inside and shot with his right foot, but both times Guaita was up to the challenge and made the saves.

Getafe then had a couple opportunities that made the Camp Nou nervous. One of them being a shot from distance by Gaku Shibasaki after spotting Marc-Andre ter Stegen off his line. Fortunately for the German goalkeeper, that shot went over the bar.

Manager Ernesto Valverde brought on Andres Iniesta and Ousmane Dembele at the hour mark to try to light a fire under Barcelona. Neither did much to change the game.

Yerry Mina almost had a debut goal in 76th minute. Unfortunately for the Colombian, his header went just wide.

Getafe began to sit back and Barcelona sent a flurry of attacks searching for a goal, but it wasn't to be. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Barcelona are still first, but now Atletico Madrid have cut the lead down to 7 points.
