PSG take to the field for the first time in Ligue 1 since winning the title in such emphatic style with that 7-1 demolition of second placed Monaco last weekend. The Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux is the venue and Gus Poyet's Bordeaux the opposition as the unstoppable PSG train continues to roll on.

How much motivation remains for PSG we can't be sure with the league title already in the bag. Five wins or four wins and a draw in their remaining matches would take them to the magic 100-point total which having already burst through the 100 goal mark would single this out as a truly great league campaign.

Bordeaux have arrested what was becoming a worrying slide down the table since the appointment of Gus Poyet in January and now sit in eleventh and comfortably away from the trouble at the bottom. Five points off the European spots with five to play, a top five finish seems unlikely but Poyet will look to build upon what he has achieved so far as the season draws to a close.

PSG ran riot in the first clash between these sides, smashing five past Bordeaux in the first half before eventually running out 6-2 winners. Bordeaux have improved since that game, but probably not enough to avoid defeat again here.

Half time: 0 - 0

Shots on target: 8 - 2
Corner Kicks: 8 -5
Possession: 36% - 64%

Just the one booking in the match with PSG's Presnel Kimpembe being shown the yellow card by referee Antony Gautier.

How Bordeaux managed to lose this one is something of a mystery. It's certainly hard to believe from looking at the stats where they won the shot count by a ratio of 2 to 1 and the shots on target count by a ratio of 4 to 1. Lose it they did though.

When playing any side, but particularly one of the quality of PSG, the trick is to make it pay during the spells when you are on top. Bordeaux simply didn't do it, and despite peppering the goal throughout, many of their efforts were more pot shots from range as opposed to clear cut chances.

PSG did have chances too and possibly in better positions. Kylian Mbappé was in wasteful mood this evening though and failed to hit the target when well placed on at least two occasions.

It was almost inevitably PSG who did eventually get on the scoresheet though. The winner coming in the 77th minute. A Julian Draxler corner from the left being headed clear, but only to the edge of the area and right into the path of Giovani Los Celso. The inform Los Celso smashing a first time strike low and through all the bodies into the back of the net.

Defeat doesn't really do any great harm to Bordeaux, other than the disappointment of having played so well against the runaway champions and still coming away with nothing. They remain eleventh and secure in mid-table.

Another game, another win for PSG who are now a massive twenty points clear at the top.
