A big game for two sides at opposite ends of the table on Match Day 36 in Ligue 1, as highflying Lyon play host to struggling Troyes.

Third placed Lyon arrive in flying form having won seven in a row in Ligue 1 to put themselves second in the league and in the box seat when it comes to Champions League qualification.

It's the prospect of relegation which is occupying the minds of Troyes at present. The visitors currently sit third bottom but just two points adrift of safety. It's tough to see Troyes improving their prospects here though.

Poor overall, Troyes have been diabolical on the road, losing a spectacular 12 of their past 13 away from home.

Lyon will be without the suspended Anthony Lopes, whilst top scorer Mariano may once again start on the bench as he regains his fitness.

Midfielder Tristan Dingome looks to be the only absentee for Troyes.

Troyes are officially the worst away side in Ligue 1 and as such can be expected to lose most of their road trips. Playing a talented and motivated Lyon side we don't see then getting anything here.

Lyon won the reverse game 5-0 in Troyes back in October, and it wouldn't be the greatest surprise were something similar to be on the cards here. We fancy the excellent Memphis Depay to run riot here and lead his side to a comfortable victory.

Prediction: Lyon 4 - 0 Troyes

Lyon's Lucas Tousart and Ferland Mendy had their names taken by referee Nicolas Rainville, with Karim Azamoum and Hyun-Juk Suk being the players booked for Troyes.

Lyon's opener came from a corner kick. Memphis Depay swinging the ball in from the right to find Houssem Aouar lurking in the back corner of the box. Aouar's strike on goal being back-heeled in by Bertrand Traore from around six yards out.

The second came after 34 minutes and it was that man Traore again. This time getting his head to a Ferland Mendy cross from the left by-line to power the ball past Erwin Zelazny. 2-0 at half-time.

Troyes never really looked like getting back into, although they did at least register three shots on target as Lyon took their foot off the gas just a little in the second half. The home side did get a third though and it came in the 88th minute.

Gnaly Maxwell Cornet being brilliantly played in on the left-hand side by Ferland Mendy. The angle was extremely tight, but Gnarly Maxwell Cornet finished hard and low past the keeper. 3-0 final score.

Lyon continue their charge towards next seasons Champions League with a seventh consecutive win in Ligue 1, and maintain their grip on second spot. Its tight at the top though with just two points separating Lyon, Monaco and Marseille in second, third and fourth.

Back down to earth for Troyes following their win over Caen last week. Jean-Louis Garcia's men remain second bottom and firmly in the mire. Three points adrift of safety, with only two games remaining, they look up against it now.
