Things are certainly going well for the Peruvian national side at the minute. Not only are they on the brink of playing in their first World Cup finals in 36 years, they are also in excellent form having not been beaten in their past 12 international outings.

Scotland are the visitors to the Estadio Nacional de Lima as Ricardo Gareca's men continue their preparations for Russia.

The one black spot for Peru has been the suspension of talismanic front man Paolo Guerrero due to a doping incident. He is the only key absentee from the squad though as they bid to keep up their good run headed into the finals.

Scotland on the other hand send a vastly inexperienced squad to Peru, with no fewer than nine of the players having yet to represent their country. So inexperienced is the squad on the international stage that the 21 players selected have a grand total of three international goals between them. The plus side of having so many newcomers is that they will no doubt all be keen to create a favourable impression and force themselves into Alex McLeish's long-term plans.

Having beaten the likes of Uruguay, Croatia and Iceland in recent months, and effectively a full-strength side facing a team of reserves, Peru should be winning this one. Alex McLeish's sides do tend to be pretty well organised though, so we don't see this being a rout.

Prediction: Peru 2 - 0 Scotland
