The week 2 Serie A action concludes in the capital this weekend as Atalanta travel to Rome to take on Eusebio Di Francesco's men.

Juventus and Napoli ran right away with things at the head of Serie A last season but it was Roma who proved to be the best of the rest for a solid third placed finish.

Roma began their campaign in positive fashion when picking up a hard-fought win at Torino on the opening day.

Atalanta enjoyed a positive campaign of their own last season, finishing up in seventh spot. They ran right away with things in their season opener when stuffing Frosinone 4-0, but will likely find things significantly tougher here.

It was honours even between the two sides last season, Roma winning 1-0 in Atalanta, but Atalanta gaining their revenge when coming out on top 2-1 in this game, despite going down to ten men. That sending off was symptomatic of games between these two sides in Roma, with the past six fixtures featuring five red cards.

Diego Perotti is out for the home side, whilst Atalanta must do without last season's top scorer, Josip Iličić and José Luis Palomino.

This could be tight as games between the sides have tended to be in recent seasons. Overall though we were impressed with Atalanta last week and can just see them pulling off the upset here.

Prediction: Roma 1 - 2 Atalanta

Just the two bookings in this one with referee Michael Fabbri taking the names of Roma's Steven Nzonzi and Atalanta's Berat Djimsiti.

A real humdinger at the Stadio Olimpico as Roma and Atalanta went at it hammer and tongs almost from the off.

It was Roma who struck first after just two minutes. Cengiz Under sending a cross in from the right-hand side and Javier Pastore finishing with a well placed back heel into the bottom left corner.

Atalanta had looked pretty good going forward last weekend and they carried on where they left off here, getting back on level terms in the 19th minute. Duvan Zapata breaking down the right-hand side and crashing an effort off the left hand upright. Timothy Castagne was the quickest to the rebound though to finish off.

Just three minutes later the visitors were in front. Zapata the catalyst once again. This time surging down the left before cutting inside and finding Emiliano Rigoni racing into the area. Smart finish from Rigoni into the left corner from around eight yards.

In the 38th minute Rigoni doubled his tally for the night. Played in on the left hand side of the area by Mario Pasalic he confidently beat Robin Olsen at his near post. 1-3 at the interval.

Roma came roaring back in the second half and clawed a goal back on the hour mark. Alessandro Florenzi bursting powerfully from midfield towards the edge of the Atalanta area and firing low past Pierluigi Gollini.

The equaliser looked to be coming for the hosts and duly arrived in the 82nd minute. Javier Pastore floating a free kick from deep towards the far post. Kostas Manolas the man racing in to sweep home on the volley. 3-3 final score.
