The wheels have come off just a little for Nimes following their excellent start to the season back in Ligue 1. Having come out on top in a seven-goal thriller in their opener at Angers, they then humbled Marseille at home. Whilst they have lost their two games since, one of those did come against PSG when they took the game to the champions before eventually going down 4-2.

Bordeaux have endured a torrid start to the season following the sacking of Gus Poyet. Thierry Henry was initially touted as the man most likely to take over but instead it is Ricardo Gomes who returns for a second spell at the club. Having delivered the League Cup first time around, it will be hoped he can achieve similar success again.

We suspect Gomes may improve Bordeaux's fortunes in the long run, but it may take a little time. Coming up against a side so familiar with one another and their style of play as Nimes in his first game in charge does not look ideal. This is a side who certainly aren't afraid to attack, even on the road and are likely to put Bordeaux under serious pressure.

Nimes games do tend to have goals so take the away side to win another thriller and continue their excellent start to the season.

Prediction: Bordeaux 2 - 3 Nimes

Half time: 1 - 2
Full time: 3 - 3
Shots:  12 - 11
Shots on target: 5 - 7
Corner Kicks: 8 - 3
Possession: 47% - 53%

Two bookings in this one, both for the home side, with referee Antony Gautier showing the yellow card to Sergi Palencia and Jaroslav Plasil.

Another Nimes game, another glut of goals, as the new boys to Ligue 1 are quickly turning into one of the most entertaining sides to watch in the division.

An evenly poised contest overall, with a draw just about looking to be a fair result in the end.

It was the home side who struck first in the 26th minute. Nice assist from Younousse Sankhare with a dinked through ball to Jimmy Briand in the left hand side of the box. Briand keeping his composure to roll the ball into the bottom right.

Just five minutes later we were all square again. Two passes carving the Bordeaux defence open. Umut Bozok played in down the right and he in turn playing in a low cross for Baptiste Gauillaime to finish from close range.

The plucky visitors then took the lead on the stroke of half time. Granted a free kick around twenty yards from goal to the left of centre, Antonin Bobichon curled a great effort into the top left corner. 1-2 at the break.

Bordeaux levelled after 56 minutes. Excellent work from full back Sergi Palencia to beat his man and break into the box on the right, before cutting the ball back to Jimmy Briand. His effort at the near post was a little scuffed but still found the bottom left corner.

Then Bordeaux took the lead for a second time, just one minute later. Samuel Kalu picking the ball up in the right channel before cutting inside into space and heading towards the edge of the area. His low strike going in off the right upright.

Stade Reims didn't deserve to lose this one and were back on level terms once again in the 77th minute.

Umut Bozok played through down the centre by Renaud Ripart. The keeper looked to have ample opportunity to come for this but didn't until all too late, allowing Bozok to finish into the bottom left.

3-3 final score.
