Ligue 1 saves the best until last on Match Day 6 with this huge clash at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais as Marseille come calling.

Lyon's start to the Ligue 1 campaign has been mixed at best. Viewed by many as one of the sides most likely to at least give PSG something to think about, they have just two wins from their opening five games. They couldn't arrive at this game on much more of a high though having beaten Manchester City at the Etihad in the Champions League in midweek.

Marseille have begun the campaign in marginally better form, and head here seeking a third win on the spin in the league. Unlike Lyon though they had a most disappointing result in midweek when slumping to defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt at home.

Amine Gouiri misses out for the home side. Marseille continue to have problems at the back with keeper Steve Mandanda and centre back Rolando unavailable for this one.

Lyon did the double over Marseille last season, winning this fixture 2-0 and coming out on top 3-2 at the Stade VĂ©lodrome.

This ought to be a good game, with both sides liking to play attacking football. With home advantage, that big European win and an advantage on the injury front we fancy that the points may go to the home side.

Pape Diop was booked for the home side. Marseille had Kevin Strootman and Luiz Gustavo booked by referee Clement Turpin who also issued a late straight red card to Duje Caleta-Car.

The opener came in the 28th minute. Lyon breaking swiftly into the Marseille area, and with the defence and keeper in disarray Houssem Aouar cutting inside and slotting home.

Then in the 39th minute Lyon lost the ball just outside of the area Marseille swiftly pounced. Dimitri Payet playing in Florian Thauvin on the right of the area and Thauvin finishing smartly into the bottom left corner. 1-1 at the break.

Lyon were back in front in the 51st minute. Tanguy Ndombele lofting a ball out to Bertrand Traore on the right. Traore racing into the area before cutting in onto his left and firing into the bottom left corner.

Nine minutes later Traore struck again. Good interplay with Fekir ending with Traore shooting through the legs of Luis Gustavo and beating the keeper via enough of a deflection to leave him with little chance.

In the 74th minute this one really was all over. Traore causing havoc again, this time having his legs taken away in the area. Initially missed by the referee, the penalty kick was given upon consultation with VAR. Fekir firing in off the right-hand post.

Marseille got one back in the 82nd minute through substitute Clinton N'Jie. Receiving the ball in the left of the area he did well to switch inside and fire into the right of the goal. 4-2 final score.

A good week for Lyon following that win at Manchester City. Not so good for Marseille who followed up a loss in Europe with another here.
