No doubt about the big game in the Premier League on Match Day 7. It comes at Stamford Bridge as third placed Chelsea play host to table toppers Liverpool. It doesn't get much bigger than this.

Chelsea suffered their first minor blip of the season last weekend when failing to break down West Ham United at the London Stadium. They have been perfect other than that though, including when dumping Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup at Anfield in midweek.

Chelsea will no doubt take plenty of confidence from that recent success and in Eden Hazard they have one of the in-form players in world football at present, and a man capable of changing any game in an instant. Liverpool's hopes may largely depend upon keeping the Belgian wizard quiet.

Liverpool bring the Leagues only remaining 100% record into this fixture and will no doubt restore all of their big guns to the starting line-up, including Virgil van Dijk who is expected to recover from a chest problem.

Chelsea held a slight edge in this fixture last season, winning this fixture 1-0 and picking up a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

We all know how good Liverpool are going forward, but the biggest change so far this season has been how tough they are at the back, a fact well illustrated by the fact they have conceded just the two goals in their three games to date. With the emphasis on Chelsea to come forward, this looks nicely set up for Liverpool's lightning counter attacks, and back to full strength they may just tun the tables on their Carabao conquerors.

Prediction: Chelsea 1 - 2 Liverpool

Half time: 1 - 0
Full time: 1 - 1
Shots:  7 - 12
Shots on target: 4 - 6
Corner Kicks: 4 - 4
Possession: 42% - 58%

Two bookings in this one, both for the visitors. Sadio Mané and James Milner the men to have their names taken by referee Andre Marriner.

A good game at Stamford Bridge with both sides having their moments. Overall it was probably Liverpool who were just about the better side, with Jurgen Klopp's men coming out on top in possession and in the shot count.

Mohamed Salah was managing to work himself into a number of promising positions early on but was unable to find a composed finish.

Having been Liverpool's nemesis in the Carabao Cup in midweek, it was once again Eden Hazard who proved to be the thorn in the side of the Reds here. Played through on goal down the left channel the Belgian raced into the left side of the eighteen-yard box and fired across Alison into the bottom right corner. Smart finish in the 25th minute.

Liverpool continued to push forward but Chelsea held their lead going into the break.

Sadio Mané forced Kepa Arrizabalaga into a smart stop at the start of the second half as he broke into the area and fired low to the keepers right, but still Liverpool were unable to break through.

Hazard then had a chance to put this out of Liverpool's reach when again played in down the left. He could only fire against the keeper this time however.

Xherdan Shaqiri should then have equalised but could only fire wide from eight yards.

And then just as it looked as though Chelsea would hang on, in the 89th minute…..

Daniel Sturridge picked up the ball around 25 yards from goal towards the left, steadied himself and curled a left footed stunner into the top right corner. Wonderful goal.

1-1 final score.
