Relative minnows Sassuolo have enjoyed an excellent start to their Serie A campaign and bid to keep the good times rolling this coming weekend as they play host to AC Milan.

Heading into week seven, only defending champions Juventus and last seasons runners up Napoli have started the season better than Sassuolo who sit third in the table with an impressive four wins and jut one defeat from their opening six games.

Milan likewise have been beaten just once in their five games so far, but head into this having drawn their last three. Three points are what is required if they are to kickstart a season which is expected to deliver a challenge for the Champions League places at the very least.

Alfred Duncan and Federico Peluso sit this one out for the home side. Milan meanwhile must do without Andrea Conti, Riccardo Montolivo, Mattia Caldera, Ivan Strinic and Gonzalo Higuaín.

Milan won this fixture 2-0 last season, although Sassuolo did put up an improved performance when claiming a 1-1 draw at the San Siro in the return game.

There doesn't look to be any fluke about Sassuolo's early high standing in the league table, with their only defeat having come away from home at Juventus. The most encouraging thing about this side is the number of goals they score, making them always look a threat, especially when attacking sides at home. With Milan suffering injuries in key positions we see the home side claiming another big scalp here.

Prediction: Sassuolo 3 - 2 AC Milan

One booking for each side in this one. Referee Piero Giacomelli taking the names of Rogerio of Sassuolo and Lucas Biglia of AC  Milan.

Sassuolo had begun the season in excellent form but came unstuck here against an AC  Milan outfit who were pretty ruthless on the day. The balance of play perhaps wasn't quite as lopsided as this score line would suggest but the visitors undoubtedly deserved the three points.

Milan had already struck the woodwork prior to taking the lead in the 39th minute. Franck Kessie allowed to advance with the ball from halfway, and advance…. and advance, and he still hadn't been challenged by the time he rifled an effort into the bottom right corner from just outside the area. 0-1 at the break.

Suso made it two five minutes into the second half. Showing good strength to hold the ball up in the right channel, he then turned inside before curling a lovely effort into the top left corner from around twenty yards.

Ten minutes later this one was as good as over. Samu Castillejo receiving the ball just outside the box on the left had side, and again being allowed to shoot, sending his left footed effort across goal and into the right-hand side of the net.

The home side did belatedly get on the scoresheet in the 68th minute. Nice play on the left, working the ball in to Filip Djuricic inside the area. Smart finish from Djuricic, wrongfooting just about everyone with an effort into the bottom left.

Too little too late for the home side though and Milan made it four in stoppage time. Suso's free kick being blocked back out to him and when he shot again from the rebound his effort was deflected in off the wall.

Sassuolo drop down to fifth after this result. AC Milan move up to tenth.
