It's a battle of the early season basement boys in the Bundesliga this weekend as third bottom Eintracht Frankfurt welcome rock bottom Hannover to the Commerzbank Arena.

Eintracht Frankfurt held the edge in this fixture last season, winning this game 1-0 and coming out on top 2-1 in Hannover.

Each side has three injury concerns ahead of this one. Timothy Chandler, Carlos Salcedo and Gonçalo Paciênda miss out for Eintracht. Hanover meanwhile must do without Edgar Prib, Felipe and Timo Hübers.

Eintracht haven't been in the best of form this season but they are solid on home soil in general, having lost just two of their last twelve here at the Commerzbank Arena. In addition, they do look to possess a goal threat having scored in each of their five league outings this season.

Hannover have now failed to win any of their last 15 games on the road in the Bundesliga. They have failed to win at all so far this season, be it at home or away, and look a side seriously short on confidence at present. This is the type of game they will be looking at in which to turn the tables but they will be coming up against a side just as desperate for the points as themselves.

Two poor sides on what we have seen so far this season, but Eintracht do at least look to have the potential to improve significantly as the season progresses. This likely won't be one to savour for the neutrals but we do see the home side coming out on top.

Lucas Torro was booked for the home side in this one, with referee Robert Hartmann also taking the names of Oliver Sorg and Waldemar Anton of Hannover.

Hannover had enough of the ball to make a game of this, but were simply unable to do anything with it, registering just the one shot on target over the course of ninety minutes; Eintracht running out thoroughly deserved winners in the end.

Frankfurt's opening goal came in the 36th minute. A lofted ball into the box being headed back across goal by Sebastien Haller and into the path of Evan N'Dicka who side footed past the keeper into the bottom right from around eight yards.

The home side grabbed another on the stroke of half time. Ante Rebic doing well to control and spin his man and leave himself with a clear path to goal. Smart finish from Rebic into the bottom right from just inside the box. 2-0 at the break.

Two became three in the 59th minute. Slack defending from Hannover as Rebic received the ball in space, easily beat his man in the left hand side of the box before laying the ball back across goal and allowing Jonathan De Guzman to tap into an empty net.

Hannover got one back in the 86th minute. Good pace shown by Bobby Wood down the right flank, and a decent cut back to Florent Muslija to smash home from eight yards.

Three minutes later though the three-goal margin was restored. De Guzman's through ball splitting the Hannover defence in two and Luka Jovic finishing smartly into the bottom right from the left hand side of the area.

Eintracht Frankfurt move up to eleventh after this win. Hannover remain rooted to the foot of the table.
