PSG have been perfect in Ligue 1 this season and head into this weekends game looking to make it a ninth win on the spin on the domestic front. Visitors to the Parc des Princes are one of the sides expected to join PSG towards the top of the table this season, Lyon.

Lyon were one of the few sides to beat PSG last season when coming out on top 2-1 at home. PSG did win this fixture 2-0 though.

Adrien Rabiot is suspended for the home side who must also do without Layvin Kurzawa, Dani Alves and Lass Diarra through injury. Amine Gouiri is out for Lyon.

PSG have simply been a different class to the rest of this division for well over a season now. Nowhere has this been more evident than in their form at home where they have won 21 of their 23 games since the beginning of last season. The task facing Lyon is a formidable one.

Lyon have drawn their last two games, both at home, against Nantes in Ligue 1 and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. They may draw encouragement from their recent displays on the road having won 3-0 at Dijon and 2-1 at English Champions Manchester City.

PSG have scored three or more goals in all four of their home games so far this season.

This will likely be slightly tougher than their average home game but the goals are flowing so freely for PSG - they notched six in the Champions' League in midweek - at present that it's hard to envisage anything other than a home win.

Prediction: PSG 3 - 1 Lyon

Neymar and Marco Veratti were both booked for PSG who also had Presnel Kimpembe shown a straight red card in the 35th minute. Referee Antony Gautier also took the names of Houssem Aouar and Jerremy Morel of Lyon who were also reduced to ten men when Lucas Tousart was dismissed for a second bookable offence in the 45th minute.

The positives for Lyon in this one are that they had more possession and decent territory as illustrated by the corner count. That's scant consolation though as they were absolutely thumped in the end with Kylian Mbappé in irresistible form for the hosts. Viewed by many as the only plausible challengers to the defending champions, they looked miles away from that here.

The opener came in the ninth minute. Mbappé being wiped out in the area by keeper Anthony Lopes and the referee pointing to the spot. Neymar stepping up to roll the ball into the bottom right.

Kimpbembe was sent off for a terrible challenge which could have been a real leg breaker, with Tousart following soon after.

1-0   is the way it stayed until half time.

The second came in the 61st minute. Neymar dancing into the area and when he was dispossessed the ball falling to Mbappé. Powerful finish by the Frenchman with the ball striking both posts before going in.

Five minutes late Mbappé scored again. PSG winning the ball on the edge of the area and Marquinhos laying the ball across for the tap in.

And Mbappé grabbed his third in just eight minutes in the 69th minute. PSG breaking on the counter and Neymar playing Mbappé in on half way. No catching the fleet footed forward as he raced away before finishing well from the edge of the area.

And he still wasn't finished. Following a scramble in the area in the 74th minute the ball fell to him once again around the penalty spot. With the defence and keeper in disarray he finished down the centre of the goal. Four goals in 13 minutes. 5-0 final score.
