An interesting clash at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Match Day 9 in Serie A as Parma - who have made a most encouraging start to the season - play host to third placed Lazio.

Lazio have won each of the past four games between these sides. The latest of those came back in 2015 though, will this new version of Parma fare better?

One area where Lazio do undoubtedly hold the edge here is on the injury and suspension front. Whereas Riza Durmisi is the only absentee for the visitors, Parma must do without the injured Jacopo Dezi, Gianni Munari, Federico Dimaro and Matteo Scozzarella, as well as the suspended Emanuele CalaiĆ².

Parma have won their last two at home in Serie A without conceding a goal. They are likely to find this Lazio outfit a significantly greater attacking threat than either Cagliari or Empoli though.

Lazio have been pretty solid on the road in the league of late, with their only defeats in their past eight awaygames coming at the hands of Champions Juventus and when disappointingly losing to Roma in the big Rome derby.

Parma are certainly winning plenty of admirers upon their return to Serie A and should contribute to this being a pretty open game, with both sides' strength seeming to lie in attack. Those injuries and suspensions may just tilt things in Lazio's favour though and we see the visitors coming out on top.

Prediction: Parma 1 - 2 Lazio

Half time: 0 - 0

Shots:  3 - 14
Shots on target: 1 - 9
Corner Kicks: 2 - 8
Possession: 35% - 65%

Two bookings for the home side. Massimo Gabi and Luca Siligardi the men to see yellow. Lucas Leiva, Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio also had their names taken by referee Michael Fabbri.

It took Lazio a long time - and a penalty decision from the referee - before they edged their noses in front here, but they would certainly have been unlucky not to have come away with all three points having posted an excellent away performance. Dominating possession and miles clear on the total shots and shots on target count they did get what they deserved in the end.

Lazio were the dominant force in the game from the off here, with Parma only very occasionally mounting an attack on the counter and managing just a solitary shot on target over the course of the match.

Ciro Immobile wasn't quite his usual ruthless self in front of goal today, spurning a couple of gilt edged chances. The front man wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to hand his side the advantage from the spot in the 81st minute though. Clumsy challenge in the area by Riccardo Gagliolo on Valon Berisha seeing the referee award the penalty kick, Immobile gleefully smashing into the top left.

Immobile then turned provider in the fourth minute of stoppage time as Lazio struck on the break. The frontman slipping the ball into the path of Joaquin Correa in the left of the area. Correa then finishing well right into the bottom right corner to confirm that the points would be heading back to Rome.

Lazio maintain their place in the top four with this win. Parma drop down to tenth.
