One of the most eye-catching fixtures on the latest slate of games in the Champions League comes at Camp Nou as Spanish Champions Barcelona play host to in-form Inter Milan.

This will be the seventh meeting between the sides with the previous six resulting in three wins for Barcelona, one for Inter and two draws.

Things haven't been running as smoothly as usual for Barcelona of late with the side failing to win in four successive La Liga games. However they bounced back with a 4-2 victory over Sevilla at the weekend though to regain top spot in the standings. They have also been good so far in this competition in putting four past both PSV and Tottenham Hotspur.

In Inter Milan, Barca will be facing a side who are flying at present having won their past seven in all competitions. On a high following a last gasp winner in the big Milan derby at the weekend, they won't be short on confidence headed into this game.

There is one major factor in Inter Milan's favour here; Lionel Messi misses out for Barcelona. With Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen also on the side-lines, the hosts will be a little way off full strength here.

Similar comments apply to Inter though. Radja Nainggolan, Dalbert, Roberto Gagliardini and João Mário all definitely miss out, whilst there are also concerns surrounding Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic.

We would fancy a full strength Inter to get something against a Messi-less Barcelona. With the injuries as they are though it is Barcelona who still look to have the more match winners in the side which should see them come out on top.

Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez were all booked for Inter Milan in this one, with Luis Suarez being the only Barcelona player to have his name taken by referee Ovidiu Hategan.

Inter Milan have been in excellent form of late, but they met their match at Camp Nou against a Barcelona side who now seem to finding their stride again following a pretty major - by their lofty standards - wobble.

Thoroughly dominant even without the best player in the world on the pitch, this was a mismatch when it came to possession and total shots and Barca managed to translate that dominance into points to take firm control of this group.

The opening goal came in the 32nd minute. Excellent work through midfield from Rafinha to carry the ball deep inside the Inter half before picking out Luis Suarez on the right. Super ball from Suarez back into the area to find Rafinha carrying on his run to finish on the volley into the bottom left from around seven yards.

Barca continued to be well on top in the second half, but whilst their lead stood at just the one there was always a chance that Inter may get back into this. Philippe Coutinho rattle the woodwork in the 71st minute, but Barca didn't make sure of this result until seven minutes from time.

Ivan Rakitic was the man to split the Inter defence to find Jordi Alba racing into the box, good control and strength from the fullback to hold off his marker and finish into the bottom right. 2-0 final score.

Barca now three points clear atop Group B. Not too bad a night for Inter though who stay five clear of Tottenham and PSV.
