Eleventh plays fourteenth this weekend in Ligue 1 as Rennes welcome Reims to their Roazhon Park home.

Adrien Hunou, Romain Danzé and Ludovic Baal are out injured for the home side. Reims look set to have a fully fit squad from which to select with only a slight concern about Tristan Dingome.

Rennes have been playing some good stuff at present and but for a late missed penalty from Hatem Ben Arfa - who has otherwise been magic - they would be heading here with two wins in their past three.

Having scored only five goals in their opening ten games, Reims are doing remarkably well not to be in the relegation zone at present. The fact that they aren't is down to a stingy defence which has kept four clean sheets in their past six Ligue 1 games - all of which finished up 0-0.

How this game pans out will likely depend upon whether Rennes are able to make any kind of early breakthrough in which case it may open up a little. Otherwise expect more of the same from Reims as they aim to sit back and block all the space for their opponents.

This may not be pretty viewing and another 0-0 wouldn't be the biggest surprise. Overall though we fancy Rennes may have enough nous to make the breakthrough in the end and can win by a couple of goals.

Ismaila Sarr, Ramy Bensebaini and Benjamin Bourigeaud were all booked for the home side in this one with Remi Oudin and Thomas Foket also having their names taken by referee Benoit Millot.

The stats for this one were pretty much as expected with Rennes dominant in terms of possession of the ball and chances created. This Reims outfit are a very tough nut to crack at times though and held firm once again, whilst also converting two of the three shots on target they had in the game to complete a successful smash and grab raid.

The opening goal came in the 16th minute. Good break down the left-hand side from Reims who then worked the ball across the box towards the right. Xavier Chavalerin eventually teeing up Remi Oudin in the right corner of the eighteen-yard box who then finished superbly into the top left via the slightest of deflections

Rennes went closest in the first half through a Hatem Ben Arfa free kick which was well saved by Eduardo Mendy. 0-1 at the break.

Rennes continued to have the lions share of the play in the second half, but it was Reims who grabbed the crucial second goal of the game in the 53rd minute. Marvin Martin swinging in a corner from the left which was met with a near post header from Oidin who beat the keeper for his second of the game.

From there on in the away side effectively shut up shop and held firm to pick up a big three points on the road.

Good win for Reims to move them up into ninth spot. Rennes drop down to fourteenth.
