We have a real big one this week in La Liga as third placed Atlético Madrid welcome defending champions - and current league leaders - Barcelona to their Wanda Metropolitano home. Its tight at the top in La Liga at present with just the one point separating the top four sides, so there's plenty of significance hinging on the result of this one.

Atlético's fabled defence kept Barcelona's attack pretty well in check last season, with Atlético picking up a point in a 1-1 draw in this game and only going down narrowly when losing 1-0 at Camp Nou.

There are significant absentees for both sides in this one. Defensive lynchpin Diego Godin misses out for the hosts as does Juanfran. Barcelona must go without key playmaker Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Samper and Thomas Vermaelen.

Atlético haven't wasted much time in turning their relatively new home into a fortress; losing just the once in their past 27 La Liga home games. Five from six at home so far this season, the have won their past four, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Barcelona haven't been anything like their magnificent, consistent best this season, and yet they still top the table. They have won three of five on the road so far, but all three have been single goal victories, and they of course contrived to lose at Leganés, showing that even the best can be vulnerable against the leagues lesser lights.

Godin looks to be the key absentee here, and we don't see Atlético keeping Barcelona at bay without him. We wouldn't be confident about the visitors picking up all three points though and will take a score draw in this one.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid 2 - 2 Barcelona
