The permutations are beginning to get a little complicated as we head into the final round of fixtures in Group C in what is a three way battle between Napoli, PSG and Liverpool. For Liverpool though it's really quite simple. Jurgen Klopp's men must beat Napoli at home in this game - and most likely by more than one goal - if they are to progress. All of which adds up to a huge European night at Anfield.

Liverpool will certainly need to perform much better than in the reverse fixture where they failed to register even a single shot on target in a 1-0 defeat. Back in front of their own fans though and newly top of the Premier League, they will surely fancy their chances.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been joined on the side-lines by Joseph Gomez for Liverpool. Napoli must do without Simone Verdi and Vlad Chiriches.

Napoli have conceded two or more goals in three of their last eight away fixtures in all competitions which will give the Reds hope here. The Italian's do arrive on a high though having gone unbeaten in their last twelve in all competitions.

This is all set up to be a cracker and we fancy Liverpool to get the job done. Mo Salah has been a little slow coming to the boil but was frightening at times at Bournemouth and can help the home side get the goals they need.

Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Sadio Mane were all booked for the home side in this one, with referee Damir Skomina also taking the name of Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli.

A huge European night on Merseyside. With PSG beating Crvena Zvezda as expected to ensure their qualification, everything was on the line in this one. In the end Liverpool did enough, but only just, and the night certainly wasn't without a scare or two.

Both sides were offering an attacking threat from the off here. Marek Hamsik going closest for Napoli when firing narrowly over from the edge of the area.

It was Liverpool who took the lead though in the 34th minute, and it was that man Mo salah who found a way through. Showing good strength to hold off his marker in the right corner of the eighteen-yard box, he then burst past Kalidou Koulibaly to head towards the by-line. The angle looked very tough but the Kop's Egyptian King nevertheless fired through the legs of David Ospina and in. 1-0 at the break.

Liverpool were piling on the pressure in the second half; Salah, Sadio Mané and Jordan Henderson all going close but being unable to build on the home sides lead.

Whilst the deficit stood at just the one, there was always the chance that Napoli would save themselves…and they very nearly did. Deep into stoppage time a ball into the area from the right-hand side made its way all the way through to Arkadiusz Milik unmarked and inside the six-yard box. He seemed certain to score only to be denied by an excellent stop from Alisson. Heart in the mouth stuff. 1-0 final score.

PSG top what turned out to be an incredibly competitive section then. Liverpool make it through in second, whilst its heartbreak for Napoli who head to the Europa League. The Italian side can count themselves unfortunate to have been drawn in a group so strong as this one.
