Third placed Tottenham Hotspur face fifth bottom Cardiff City on Match Day 21 in the Premier League as they make the trip to Wales to take on Neil Warnock's men. Despite the relative league positions of the side, it is Cardiff who arrive at this game on a high having posted a first away win of the season at Leicester last time out, whereas Tottenham slumped to a surprising 3-1 defeat at home to Wolves.

Tottenham did win the reverse of this fixture at Wembley earlier in the season, only narrowly though with the game finishing up 1-0.

Jazz Richards and Kenneth Zohore are out for the home side. Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembélé and Vincent Janssen miss out for Tottenham.

That result for Spurs last time out was most surprising as thy had been one of the most in-form sides in the league going into the game with wins in each of their five previous games. They have been most impressive on the road overall this season though, winning nine of eleven, with the only dropped points coming in defeats to Watford and Arsenal.

Cardiff's latest home game didn't go too well as they were battered 5-1 by Manchester United. They had been ticking along nicely in front of their own fans prior to that though with four wins in their five previous games against Fulham, Brighton, Wolves and Southampton.

Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United have won at Cardiff City already this season and Spurs are a side very much in that bracket. Away win.

Prediction: Cardiff City 1 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur

Away victories really don't come much more routine than this as the gulf in class between these two sides was evident almost from the outset. Getting in front early, there was never really a moment's doubt as to the destination of the points here as Spurs just about passed Cardiff into submission.

Spurs couldn't have asked for a better start really as they took the lead in just the third minute. This one won't make the Harry Kane highlights reel but he will no doubt take it all the same. A ball in from the right being stabbed clear by Sean Morrison but only onto the leg o Kane and back the way it had come and into the bottom left.

One became two in the twelfth minute. Son Hueng-Min finding Christian Eriksen in the left side of the area. Eriksen seeming to have all the time in the world to control, and fire through the legs of the defender to beat a stationary Neil Etheridge into the bottom left.

And in the 26th minute this one real was all over almost before it had begun. Harry Kane finding Son in the right of the area, Son taking the ball forward and the angle appearing to tighten before firing across goal and into the bottom left. 0-3 at half time.

And 0-3 it stayed as Spurs successfully played keep ball amongst themselves for the bulk of the second half.

Good bounce back win from Spurs following that most surprising loss to Wolves at Wembley Stadium. Mauricio Pochettino's men move back up above Manchester City and into second spot ahead of the Citizen's titanic clash with Liverpool in the last of the Match Day 21 fixtures. Cardiff stay 16th and three points clear of the relegation zone.
