League leaders Barcelona make their return to action following the winter break in La Liga with a trip to Madrid to take on seventh placed Getafé in what looks one of the picks of the Match Day 18 fixtures.

There wasn't too much between these two last season with Getafe coming away from Camp Nou with a goalless draw and Barcelona winning this game 2-1.

Markel Bergara and Amath Ndiaye are out injured for the home side, with Gaku Shibasaki being away on international duty. Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen and Rafinha are the absentees for Barcelona.

Getafe will likely be pretty happy with how the first half of the season has gone as they sit only a point off the European positions. Its been a bit of a mixed bag at home so far though with four wins and three defeats from their eight games to date. They have been very solid at the back in front of their own fans though, conceding just once in their past four.

This will of course be the ultimate test for the home side as they face the defending champions who have won their past four in La Liga, scoring 13 and conceding zero. They have lost only two of their past 30 away from home in La Liga.

Barcelona at their best continue to be much the best side in this league. Whilst that best doesn't always arrive as frequently as in recent years, the percentage call is to go with an away win in this one.

Prediction: Getafe 1 - 2 Barcelona
