League leaders Barcelona are looking like they are going to be tough to reel in as they bid to defend their La Liga title. Five points clear present, their next game sees 13th placed Eibar come calling to Camp Nou.

Barcelona did the double over Eibar last season, winning 2-0 away and thrashing Eibar 6-1 in this fixture.

Samuel Umtiti and Rafinha are out for Barcelona. Pedro León and Charles are out for Eibar.

Barcelona did have a little blip earlier this season, but now appear to be back in cruise control. They will be seeking a sixth win on the spin here, having scored 15 and conceded just once in those five recent wins.

Survival will as ever be the main aim for Eibar, and whilst they are up in 13th spot at present, it's pretty congested at the bottom and they remain only three points clear of the drop zone. They have at least been keeping the points tally ticking over of late having drawn their past four games. This represents the toughest game of the season for any side though and anything they get out of the game will be an unexpected bonus. They have struggled overall away from home, winning just one of eight and failing to score in five of those eight games.

Anything other than a Barcelona win would be a major surprise here and we expect them to do this pretty comfortably.

Prediction: Barcelona 4 - 0 Eibar

Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez were booked for Barcelona with Sergi Enrich of Eibar also having his name taken by referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

Eibar actually did quite a bit better than expected on the stats here, jut shading possession and recording more total shots than Barcelona. In the end though the result went almost exactly as expected as Barcelona's irresistible quality in the final third made the difference once again.

Barcelona took the lead in the 19th minute via a beautiful passing goal. A one touch move through the centre of midfield carving Eibar open and seeing Philippe Coutinho play in Luis Suarez in the left of the area. Good finish from Suarez, opening up his body to find the bottom right corner. 1-0 at half time.

Lionel Messi made it two in the 53rd minute. More slick interplay between Suarez and Coutinho, ending with the former finding Messi in the left of the box. Messi beating his man to the outside before firing into the bottom right corner.

The third and final goal came in the 59th minute. A quick throw in from Sergi Roberto on the right-hand side sending Suarez through on goal in the right-hand side of the area. The angle looked pretty tight, but the Uruguayan hitman did well to finish with the outside of his right into the bottom left hand corner. No way back for Eibar from there. 3-0 final score.

Barcelona maintain their place at the top of the table and remain five points clear of nearest pursuers Atletico Madrid. Eibar are down in 16th but still three points clear of the relegation zone.
