The first of the Match Day 20 fixtures in La Liga is one of the most evenly poised of the week on paper as sixth placed Getafé play host to fifth place Deportivo Alavés. With only four points between the sides heading into the game, Getafé can really close the gap with a win in this one.
The sides couldn't be separated in the reverse of this fixture earlier in the season as they played out a 1-1 draw in Alavés. Getafé will have fond memories of this game last season though as they ran out impressive 4-1 winners on the day.
The home side will be without Markel Bergara and Amath Ndiaye through injury, Mauro Arambarri and Dimitri Fouquier through suspension and Gaku Shibasaki who is away on international duty. Rodrigo Ely, Víctor Laguardia and Jony are all out for Alavés.
It hasn't been great at home for Getafé so far this season, with the Madrid club losing as many games as they have won in front of their own fans - four losses/four wins. They have scored one or fewer goals in six of their nine home games, but on a more positive note have registered five clean sheets.
Alavés have just about been holding their own on the road, winning four and losing five with one draw in their ten road games to date. Goals have also been at a premium for Abelardo Fernández's men though. Their ten away games to date have seen them score one or fewer goals on nine occasions.
Two evenly matched sides here who don't tend to be involved in thrillers. We will take a low scoring draw in this one.
Prediction: Getafé 1 - 1 Deportivo Alavés
