Ten points clear with three games in hand over second placed Lille, this season's Ligue 1 crown is all but upon the heads of PSG already. They aren't invincible as witnessed in that surprise defeat at home to Guingamp in the cup recently, but that really was the exception rather than the rule and they will be expecting another three points against tenth placed Rennes in this one.

PSG were comfortable 3-1 winners in Rennes in the first clash between these sides this season. Rennes did upset PSG in this game last season though when coming away from the capital with a 2-0 victory.

Neymar, Marco Verratti, Presnel Kimpembe, Colin Dagba, Adrien Rabiot and Lass Diarra are all out for the home side. Rennes must do without Ludovic Baal, Abdoulaye Diallo and Romain Danzé.

Winners of all bar two of their opening 19 games, with only draws at Bordeaux and Strasbourg spoiling their 100% record, and averaging over three goals per game, PSG are sweeping all before them in the league this season. A perfect ten from ten at home, they head into this game having put nine past Guingamp last week.

Rennes are a typical mid-table side. Good one week, distinctly average the next. Hatem Ben Arfa will surely be keen to make an impact at the side where he didn't really get much of a look in, but even should he have a good day, it is unlikely to be enough. On the plus side, Rennes have lost only one of their past seven on the road.

Any side would miss Neymar, and PSG are no different. They do have plenty of other weapons though and should come out on top here.

Thiago Silva was booked for the home side in this one, with referee Karim Abed also taking the names of Mbaye Niang and Hamari Traore of Rennes.

And so the latest instalment of PSG being much too good for the rest of football goes just as expected. Another game, another win as the stroll towards the latest Ligue 1 title continues.

The opener arrived in the seventh minute. Angel Di Maria given the freedom of the Parc des Princes down the right-hand side to fire a cross into the area. Edinson Cavani the man racing in to finish with a stooping header into the bottom left from seven yards.

Somewhat surprisingly Rennes were back on level terms in the 28th minute. Good driving run down the right from Hamari Traore who then played a low ball into the six-yard box. Mbaye Niang applying a flicked finish from a couple of yards. 1-1 at the break.

The home side regained the lead on the hour mark. Excellent long through ball from Thiago Silva to send Di Maria racing into the area. Clever dinked finish over the keeper from the Argentine.

Any doubt as to the destination of the points was ended six minutes later. Shoddy Rennes defending gifting the ball to Julian Draxler who found Kylian Mbappé just inside the area. Mbappé making no mistake to find the bottom left corner.

Having set the ball rolling, Cavani then rounded things off in the 71st minute. An incisive passing move setting Mbappé in the left of the area. The Frenchman then unselfishly playing the ball into the path of Cavani arriving to the right, who then finished into the empty net. 4-1 final score.
PSG stay top of the table and 13 points clear of the rest. No change for Rennes who remain rooted in midtable in tenth position.
