Two sides with concerns at opposite ends of the Serie A table lock horns at the Dacia Arena on Match Day 21 in Serie as Udinese play host to Fiorentina.

For 16th placed Udinese the aim is to keep themselves out of - and hopefully pull away from - the bottom three. Only two points clear of the drop at present, there is plenty of work still to be done.

Fiorentina may only be ninth, but such is the congestion in the top half of the table that they are only three points off the European positions, a win here would likely bring them further into the mix.

Fiorentina have won the last four games between the sides, including a 1-0 victory at home this season and a 2-0 success in this game last season.

Samir, Antonin Barak, Lukasz Teodorczyk and Emmanuel Badu are all out for the home side. Fiorentina will be without the injured Vitor Hugo and suspended top scorer Marco Benassi.

It's been another season of struggle for Udinese overall, with just the three wins from their opening eleven at home. They have scored more than one goal in only one of those eleven fixtures.

Fiorentina have incredibly drawn eight of their last 13 in the league. Solid as that is, they really need to be turning those draws into wins if they are to make their presence felt in the upper echelons in the table. They are unbeaten in their last seven away from home.

Fiorentina are the better side, but - prone to drawing anyway - may well have to settle for a point here, particularly with Benassi on the side-lines.

Prediction: Udinese 1 - 1 Fiorentina

Half time:  0 - 0
Full time: 1 - 1
Shots:  8 - 12
Shots on target: 2 - 5
Corner Kicks: 1 - 10
Possession: 43% - 57%

Three bookings for each side in this one, with referee Daniele Orsato taking the names of Rolando Mandragora, Ignacio Pussetto and Valon Behrami of Udinese, and Nikola Milenkovic, Vincent Laurini and Gerson of Fiorentina.

The table tells us that Fiorentina are a better side than Udinese, and indeed they were much the better side at times in this game too. You don't get points for simply being the better team though, you also have to take your chances, and in that regard the sides were dead level as Udinese battled their way to an important point.

Udinese had the first big chance of the game. Rodrigo De Paul dancing his way into the left-hand side of the area and seeming certain to score only to fire wide of the right hand upright.

Fiorentina then went close in the 26th minute when Juan Musso got down well to save a German Pezzella header from a corner. 0-0 as we headed into the break.

Udinese took the lead in the 56th minute when breaking at lighting quick pace. Ignacio Pussetto bursting down the left-hand side and all the way into the area. His deflected shot dropping perfectly for Jens Stryger Larsen arriving at the far post to apply the finish.

Nine minutes later the visitors were back on level terms. Edmilson Fernandes allowed time to tee himself up around 22-yards out and slightly to the right and firing a bullet of a strike into the bottom left corner. 1-1 final score.

Udinese stay sixteenth and two points clear of the relegation zone. No change in the standings for Fiorentina either who remain in ninth spot.
