Two sides with very differing objectives clash at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Match Day 25 in La Liga as Champion's League chasing Getafe play host to relegation threatened Rayo Vallecano.

Getafe have won the last two games between these sides, but both have been tight; the game here last season finishing 1-0 and Getafe coming away from Vallecano with a 2-1 success earlier in the current campaign.

Amath Ndiaye and Markel Bergara are out injured for the home side whilst Bruno González is suspended. Gorka Elustondo looks like being the sole absentee for Vallecano.

Getafe are enjoying a cracking season and currently sit fifth, just a single point adrift of fourth placed Sevilla. Their home form has been solid if unspectacular, with six wins and four defeats from their eleven games to date.

Getafe have kept a clean sheet in three of their last five here.

Having threatened to turn the corner with a run of four wins and a draw in five games, Vallecano have now lost their last three on the spin. They remain inside the relegation zone, but that earlier run of form does mean that they are now only a point off safety.

Vallecano have won three of eleven away from home, scoring one or fewer goals in ten of those eleven games.

Getafe look to be playing well enough at the back to restrict Vallecano here and should have enough at the other end to pick up the points.

Prediction: Getafe 2 - 0 Rayo Vallecano

Three bookings at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, with Vitorino Antunes and Damian Suarez of Getafé and Mario Suarez of Rayo Vallecano having their names taken by referee Javier Alberola Rojas.

Not too much to choose between the sides at all on the day. Vallecano had more of the ball, but it was the home side who were just that bit more clinical when the chances presented themselves and that was the difference in the end.

The homes side struck first in the 28th minute. A long ball over the top making its way to Dimitri Foulquier towards the by-line on the right. His cutback finding Jaime Mata in the area who took a couple of touches before rifling an effort high into the net from the right corner of the six-yard box. 1-0 at the break.

Vallecano kept themselves in the game and in the 58th minute found themselves back on level terms. Raul De Tomas receiving the ball around twenty yards from goal in a central area, taking a couple of touches to his left and firing a low effort into the bottom left corner.

The winner arrived in the 68th minute. Persistent play in the centre of the park from Getafé seeing Mata released into the left channel. Mata drawing the keeper when racing into the area before unselfishly squaring the ball for Jorge Molina to finish into the empty net. No comeback from the visitors this time. 2-1 final score.

Big win for Getafé who now find themselves in fourth place and in the Champion's League qualifying positions as things stand. Rayo Vallecano remain inside the relegation zone, second bottom and two points off safety.
