One of the more eye-catching fixtures on Match Day 27 in Serie A comes at the Stadio Artemio Franchi as tenth placed Fiorentina play host to sixth placed Lazio. With only five points between the sides, the home team could close the gap significantly with a win in this one. Lazio meanwhile are only six points off the top four and wont have given up hope of Champion's League football just yet.

Lazio came out on top in the reverse of this fixture when posting a 1-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico The sides played out a seven goal thriller here last season; Lazio again taking the points courtesy of a 4-3 success.

Fiorentina have the luxury of having a fully fit squad from which to select. Valon Berisha and Jordan Lukaku are out for Lazio.

Fiorentina flew out of the traps at home with wins in their opening four games. They have won just one of eight since, drawing five of those games. They have conceded three twice in there past three games here.

Lazio arrive on a high having thumped Roma in the big Rome derby last week. They have won five of twelve away from home, but have scored more than once only three times.

We do rate Lazio as the better side overall here but Fiorentina are probably just about playing well enough to pick up a point with home advantage.

Federico Ceccherini, Jordan Veretout and Giovanni Simeone were all booked for the home side, with referee Daniele Orsato also taking the name of Ciro Immobile of Lazio.

A closely fought encounter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. The sides were pretty level in terms of possession and territory, but if there was a side who were unlucky not to pick up all three points, it was probably Lazio. The visitors had the better of the opportunities overall but couldn't make the most of them; Fiorentina scoring with their only shot on target to salvage a point.

Lazio came mighty close to taking the lead early on. Ciro Immobile slipped in in the right of the area and crashing an effort off the right hand upright.

Then in the 22nd minute the visitors did take the lead. Lovely slick passing through midfield ending with Joaquin Correa finding Immobile around twenty yards from goal to the left-hand side. Immobile cutting inside onto his right and smashing an effort into the right-hand side of the goal.

Immobile had another good chance when played through on the right only to be thwarted by keeper Pietro Terraciano. 0-1 at the break.

The equaliser arrived in the 61st minute. Determined work from Kevin Mirallas down the right-hand side and his low ball into the box being met by Lucas Muriel on the edge of the six-yard box to the right hand side. Muriel's first-time guided volley finding the bottom left corner.

Mirallas himself had a chance to win it but could only blaze over from twelve yards when found with a cross from the left. 1-1 final score.

Other results didn't really go Lazio's way on match day 27 and they drop down to eighth and are now fully eight points adrift of the Champion's League positions. Fiorentina are five points further back in tenth.
