Hoffenheim:
Last five matches form: D L W D W

Top Scorer: Andrej Kramarić (14)

Augsburg remain outside of the bottom three at present and, five points clear of the relegation zone, they really ought to be ok now. They are still the team who sit fourth bottom of the standings though and therefore are the most vulnerable should Stuttgart or Nuremberg suddenly discover a bit of form. They will be looking to their home games as the fixtures in which to ensure safety once and for all, and next up its this clash with ninth placed Hoffeneheim, who aren't completely out of the race for the Europa League.

Hoffenheim came out on top in the reverse of this fixture with a 2-1 win. The game here last season also went Hoffenheim's way, this time by a 2-0 score-line.

Three injuries for each side in this one. Raphael Framberger, Julian Schieber and Fabian Giefer the men to miss out for Augsburg, with Joelinton, Dennis Geiger and Lukas Rupp on the side-lines for Hoffenheim.

Having won only one of their first nine at home, Augsburg have now picked up maximum points in three of their last four here, including a win over Borussia Dortmund. They have scored two or more in each of those four games.

Hoffenheim have been impressive on their travels so far this season, losing only one of their last eleven on the road and scoring in every away game this season.

Incredibly both teams have scored in every one of Hoffenheim's away fixtures this season and we fancy that may well be the case once again here.

Prediction: Augsburg 2 - 2 Hoffenheim

Just the one booking for each side in this one, with referee Robert Schroder taking the names of Michael Gregoritsch of Augsburg and Kerem Demirbay of Hoffenheim.

A thoroughly dominant display from Hoffenheim this, and a notable one too as they kept a clean sheet away from home for the first time this season - at the fourteenth time of asking. Not only did they not concede a goal, but they kept Augsburg from even having a single shot on target over the course of the ninety minutes. Augsburg fell behind early and simply never got a look in here.

The opening goal arrived in just the sixth minute. Andrej Kramarić slipping in Ishak Belfodil in the left of the area and Belfodil firing across goal. Grogory Kobel got down to save but only sent the ball into the path of Kramarić to slot home the rebound from nine yards. 0-1 at the break.

The second arrived in the 61st minute. Excellent cross from Kerem Demirbay around eighteen yards out to the left hand side to find Belfodil arriving at the far post to finish with a diving header into the right hand side from seven yards.

16 minutes from time this one really was all over. Florian Grillitsch playing in Belfodil through the middle and slightly to the left. The forward grabbing his second when finishing with the outside of his right into the right hand side.

Belfodil then grabbed his hat trick in the 82nd minute. Hoffenheim breaking quickly following an Augsburg corner and Belfodil sent scampering clear from the half way line, taking the ball into the left of the area and finishing well into the bottom right from twelve yards. 0-4 final score.

Big result for Hoffenheim and a significant boost to their European aspirations. They move up to seventh and are now only a solitary point behind sixth placed Wolfsburg in the race for the Europa League. The other results could have been worse for Augsburg. They remain fourth bottom and four points clear of the relegation zone.
