We have a big clash at the Montilivi on Match Day 32 in La Liga as Girona play host to Villarreal - two sides very much still involved in the battle to avoid the dreaded drop.

Girona may be up in 14th spot headed into this game, but, only four points clear of the bottom three with seven games still to play, are hardly out of trouble just yet.

For Villarreal the situation is far more serious. They find themselves third bottom as things stand and in desperate need of a win from somewhere. Only behind Real Valladolid on goal difference though they do still have every chance of staying up.

Girona won the reverse of this fixture when picking up a 1-0 verdict in Villarreal. Villarreal did win here last season though. 2-1 the score on that occasion.

Bernardo Espinosa, Aday Benítez and Johan Mojica are out injured for the home side, whilst Douglas Luiz and Álex Granell are suspended.

Girona have been desperately poor at home this season, winning only two of sixteen overall and none of their last 10. They have conceded two or more in five of their last six here.

Villarreal's away form hasn't been great either, with only three wins from 15, and only one in their last twelve.
This is a very tough one to call between two struggling sides. Overall though both sides struggle to keep things tight at the back, but both have been amongst the goals of late, and as such a score draw may be the way to go in this one.

Prediction: Girona 2 - 2 Villarreal
