It wasn't so long ago that this game used to be THE big game in French football. With PSG miles clear and soon to be crowned Champions, and Monaco lurking precariously above the relegation zone, that may not be quite the case this season, but there's always a little extra on the line when these two clash.

This hasn't been much of a contest of late with PSG winning the past six meetings between the sides, including 4-0 victories in the reverse fixture and in this game last season.

Thomas Meunier, Thiago Silva and Adrien Rabiot are all definitely out for PSG. Neymar and Edinson Cavani are nearing a return but may not be ready in time for this one. Monaco will be without the injured quartet of Pietro Pellegri, Almamy Traoré, Jordi Mboula and Stevan Jovetic, whilst Djibril Sidibe is suspended.

PSG do look to have taken their foot of the gas of late in a similar vein as last season. They arrive here on the back of defeats to Lille and Nantes and having surrendered their 100% home record with a draw against Strasbourg in their most recent game here. They have still won 15 of 16 at home though, scoring two or more in 13 of those games.

Having threatened to pull clear of the relegation zone, Monaco have dipped just a little and still sit only four points clear of the bottom three. They have lost only one of their last six on the road though, including an impressive win at Lille.

If PSG are in the mood then they ought to be winning this one. They haven't been at their best of late, but a home win still looks to be the most likely result.

Just the one booking at the Parc des Princes with Kamil Glik of Monaco the only player to have his name taken by referee Clement Turpin.

The opener came in the 15th minute as PSG struck with a lightning quick counterattack. Kylian Mbappé receiving the ball just inside his own half and spinning the ball out wide to Moussa Diaby on the left. Diaby weighting his ball perfectly for the bombing forward Mbappé who took a touch inside the left of the area before firing in high to the left-hand side from seven yards out to the left.

PSG doubled their advantage seven minutes before the break. Mbappé found around twenty yards out and laying the ball back to Dani Alves. Alves straight back through the middle to play Mbappé in and the prolific frontman finding the bottom right from around twelve yards and slightly to the left. 2-0 at the break.

Ten minutes into the second half Mbappé had his hattrick. Alves played through down the right and into the area before laying the ball across goal and on a plate for Mbappé to slot home from the edge of the six-yard box to the left.

Monaco probably did deserve a goal on their overall display and got one ten minutes from time. Scrappy defending on the edge of the area from PSG, with one defender playing the ball off another and Aleksandr Golovin pouncing to fire into the bottom left from 12 yards out and just to the right. 3-1 final score.

It's been over and done with for quite some time now, but with Lille being held to a draw at Toulouse, this was the day when PSG were officially confirmed as Ligue 1 Champions in what has been a stroll almost from start to finish. 19 points clear with only five games left to play this has been an utterly dominant performance from the standout side in France.

Monaco meanwhile are still looking over their shoulders. Four points clear of the relegation zone, they likely will be ok but are probably going to need to get some points from somewhere.
