So near and yet so far for Eintracht Frankfurt. It was a gallant performance they put up over the two legs against Chelsea in their Europa League semi-final, but ultimately ended in penalty shootout heartache. They haven't too long to pull themselves together though as they are back in Bundesliga action this weekend as they welcome Mainz 05 to the Commerzbank-Arena.

There is plenty of incentive for Eintracht here as a win - or even a draw - would be enough to lift them back up into fourth and the Champion's League positions. It will be the three points they are aiming for though in order to give themselves a two-point cushion with only two games to play.

Sitting in mid-table obscurity Mainz have no more than pride left to play for.

There was nothing to split the sides in the reverse of this fixture, with the game in Mainz ending in a 2-2 draw. Eintracht were comfortable 3-0 winners in the game here last season.

Taleb Tawatha looks like being the only absentee for the home side. René Adler, Emil Berggreen and Philipp Mwene miss out for Mainz.

Eintracht have been faltering just a little in the league of late and were routed 6-1 at Leverkusen last time out. They have won eight of sixteen at home overall.

Mainz are on a dire run on their travels and will be seeking to avoid an eighth away defeat on the spin in this one.

Eintracht may not find this as easy as might be expected against poor travellers Mainz, with that European game possibly still in their legs. Mainz have been so bad at the back of late though that the home side are still fancied to find a way through.

Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 3 - 1 Mainz 05
