Defending champions PSG close out the action on Match Day 3 as they bid to bounce back from a shock defeat at the hands of Rennes last weekend. The visitors to the Parc des Princes are last seasons 16th placed finishers, Toulouse.

PSG predictably recorded a league double over Toulouse last season, but perhaps more surprisingly, both games were pretty tight - the champions winning 1-0 both home and away.

Ander Herrera, Thilo Kehrer and Presnel Kimpembe are all out injured for the hosts. Neymar meanwhile seems to do little other than unsettle the camp these days as he bids to force through a move away from the club. It is hoped that he does so sooner rather than later for his and the club's sake as he seems to have burnt his bridges now. Agustín Rogel is the only absentee for the visitors.

Unlike PSG, lowly Toulouse are unbeaten in Ligue 1 so far this season, having drawn at Brest on the opening weekend and beaten Dijon at home on Match Day 2.

PSG won 17 of 19 at home last season, drawing two games towards the back end of the season when the pressure was off with the title in the bag. They have impressively scored three or more in 14 of their past twenty at home.

Toulouse weren't great on the road in 2018/19, winning just four of 19 and only scoring more than once on two occasions. That kind of goal output is unlikely to be enough for them to get anything here.

Just the one booking at the Parc des Princes, with Ibrahim Sangare of the away side being the only player to have his name taken by referee Jerome Brisard.

This one went almost entirely as expected, with PSG turning the screw on Toulouse almost from the first whistle to the last. The early injury to Edinson Cavani did disrupt matters a little though, and Toulouse did well to hang on until half-time - having their moments in the first half - but were ultimately blown away in the second 45.

It wasn't far off one-way traffic in the first half. Kylian Mbappé twice forcing a decent save from Baptiste Reynet, and Toulouse in general doing well to withstand wave after wave of attack. 0-0 at the break.

Five minutes into the second half the home side broke the deadlock. Eric Maxim Choupo Moting - on for Cavani - conjuring a superb individual effort. Dancing into the area and wrongfooting three or four defenders before dragging the ball back and rifling a shot in off the left-hand post from around nine yards out to the left.

Five minutes later it was two. A ball in from the left being played back across from towards the by- line on the right, and Mathieu Goncalves attempting to clear but only succeeding in shanking the ball into his own net from a couple of yards at the near post.

Angel Di Maria then saw a penalty saved in the 70th minute, but the third arrived five minutes later. Nice move on the left of the area ending with Juan Bernat cutting the ball back to Choupo Moting around seven yards out at the near post. Firm finish from Choupo Moting into the left-hand side.

PSG then rounded off the scoring seven minutes from time. Marquinhos steaming in to meet a corner from the left and planting a seven-yard header into the bottom left.

4-0 final score.
