We have a number of intriguing fixtures on Match Day 20 in the Bundesliga. One of the most closely matched of which comes here at the Prezero Arena as seventh placed Hoffenheim play host to fifth placed Bayer Leverkusen.

Four points adrift of sixth headed into the game, Hoffenheim will be looking for a win in this one to close the gap to the Europa League positions.

Leverkusen meanwhile are only two points off the top four and will be looking to keep their Champion's League chase on track.

There was nothing to split the sides in the reverse of this fixture, with the game in Leverkusen ending in a goalless draw. Hoffenheim recorded a comfortable 4-1 success in the match here last season.

Oliver Baumann, Ishak Belfodil and Denis Geiger are all out injured for the home side. Leverkusen will be without the injured Charles Aránguiz, suspended Exequiel Palacios and Paulinho who is away on international duty.

Hoffenheim have picked up just the one win in their past five in front of their own fans. Defensively they haven't been great overall in conceding two or more in half of their ten fixtures here. They have also scored two or more in five of ten though.

Leverkusen will be seeking a fourth successive Bundesliga win in this one. With six wins in nine, they are one of the better away sides in the division.

Leverkusen do remain capable of throwing in the odd shocking performance, but are in the better form of these two, seem well set up to play on the road and are fancied to take the points.

Prediction: Hoffenheim 1 - 2 Bayer Leverkusen

Half time: 1 - 1
Full time: 2 - 1

Christoph Baumgartner, Sebastian Rudy and Philipp Pentke were all booked for the home side in this one, with referee Deniz Aytekin also taking the name of Lars Bender of Leverkusen. It was all too much for Kerem Derimbay of the away side who was dismissed for a second yellow in stoppage time.

Not quite a smash and grab raid from the home side, but it wasn't too far off it with Leverkusen coming out well on top in terms of possession, total attempts and shots on target, but ultimately coming away with nothing at all to show for their efforts, as the hosts made much better use of the chances which did come their way.

It was Leverkusen who struck first in the eleventh minute. Wonderful skill from Moussa Diaby attacking the area slightly to the left, skinning the man in front of him to break one on one with the keeper and slot home into the bottom left from around nine yards. Lovely goal.

The hosts levelled matters up twelve minutes later. Pavel Kaderabek found in the right of the area and fizzing in a deflected low ball to take the keeper and defence out of the game. Andrej Kramarić the man arriving to finish on the stretch from a couple of yards and slightly to the left. 1-1 at the interval.

The winner arrived in the 65th minute. An attack on the edge of the six-yard box being smothered out, but the ball breaking to Robert Skov on the left corner of the six yard box. Skov finishing high into the left-hand side.

2-1 final score.

No change for either side on the back of this result. Leverkusen stay fifth and now five points off the Champion's League positions, with Hoffenheim two places back in seventh.
