It had looked unlikely at one stage, but an excellent run of late season form now sees Borussia Dortmund in that all-important fourth spot and with their Champion's League destiny in their own hands with only two games to play. Next up it's this trip to take on 12th placed Mainz who don't have all that much left to play for.

There was nothing to split the sides in the reverse of this fixture, with the game in Dortmund ending in a 1-1 draw. Dortmund ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in the game here last season.

No confirmed injury absentees for Mainz who look set to be at full strength. Axel Witsel, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marcel Schmelzer, Marwin Hitz, Mateu Morey and Youssoufa Moukoko are all expected to miss out for Dortmund.

Unbeaten in nine, Mainz are at least finishing the season strongly. Having failed to win any of their first nine at home, they haver now picked up maximum points in four of their last seven - losing only once and conceding one or fewer in each of their last six.

Dortmund meanwhile head into the game seeking a sixth Bundesliga win on the spin. They have won eight of 16 overall on the road, scoring two or more in six of their last seven, but also conceding two or more in three of their last four.

Dortmund can't be trusted at the back, but this may turn into a shootout against a relaxed Mainz outfit, and we will take the visitors firepower to see them through.

Prediction: Mainz 2 - 3 Borussia Dortmund
