We have one of the most exciting title races in years on our hands in Ligue 1 this year, with just the three points separating the top four sides as we arrive at Match Day 34. All of which makes this clash at the Groupama all the more intriguing, as fourth placed Lyon play host to league leaders Lille.

Win this one and Lyon will overhaul Lille on goal difference. With PSG and Monaco both expected to win this weekend, Lille will likely need to win if they are to remain at the top of the table.

There was nothing to split the sides in the reverse fixture with the game in Lille ending in a 1-1 draw. Lille picked up all three points courtesy of a 1-0 success in the game here last season.

Djamel Benlamri is out injured for the home side, whilst Sinaly Diomande misses out through suspension. Jérémy Pied is the only player expected to miss out for Lille.

Lyon head into this with just the one defeat in their last eight in Ligue 1, including wins in each of their last two. They have won ten of 16 overall at home this season, scoring two or more in eleven of those games and conceding more than once only four times.

Lille meanwhile have lost only one of their last 15 in Ligue 1. They have been excellent on the road, winning eleven of 16 and losing just once, conceding more than once in only one of those games and keeping a clean sheet in eight of their last ten.

That away record of Lille is mightily impressive and we fancy that solid defence may give them the edge in a narrow away success.

Prediction: Lyon 1 - 2 Lille

Lille: Benjamin Andre (Yellow), Burak Yilmaz (Yellow), Yusuf Yazici (Yellow)

20 minutes 1-0 (Islam Slimani): Maxence Lacroix doing well to get to the by-line inside the area to the right and cut a low ball back. Slimani onto it to slam home into the top right from around seven yards out to the right.

35 minutes 2-0 (Jose Fonte (og)): Something of a defensive calamity this one. Lyon spinning a free-kick into the area from out on the right hand side. Keeper and defender wiping each other out in attempting to deal with it, in the process blocking Fonte's view behind them. The ball dropping over the pair of them, striking Fonte around five yards out to the left and rebounding into the now unguarded net.

45+1 minutes 2-1 (Burak Yilmaz): Lille grabbing a lifeline just before the break. Yilmaz lining up a free kick around 25-yards out and almost dead central and firing an excellent effort over the wall an into the top left corner.

60 minutes 2-2 (Jonathan David): Lucas Paqueta attempting to play the ball back to his own defence, but getting it all wrong and instead slipping Yilmaz in to the left of the area. With the keeper drawn towards him, Yilmaz played a low ball across for David to slot home into the right-hand side from seven yards out and central.

85 minutes 2-3 (Burak Yilmaz): A ball lofted forward out of defence and Yusuf Yazici getting the flick on close to halfway to send Yilmaz racing through in the right channel. Yilmaz looking to have taken a slightly heavy touch, but still getting there first to dink over the outrushing keeper and in down the middle from 12-yards out to the right.

Analysis: A pretty wild comeback from Lille in the end, but whilst they did look to have given themselves a mountain to climb, they did deserve this having registered four times the number of attempts on target as their hosts.

League standings: Huge win or Lille. They move back to the top of the table and one point clear of second placed PSG. That may well be Lyon's race run now. They sit fourth and six points off the top.
