Heading into the final few games in Ligue 1 now and we are reaching the stage where a number of the sides don't have all that much, other than pride, left to play for.

Not so Strasbourg though, who sit fifth bottom and only one point clear of the relegation zone with just the three games remaining. A win would be worth its weight in gold to Thierry Laurey's troops at this stage, and they will be hoping to get it here as they play host to eighth placed Montpellier.

Montpellier picked up the points in a 4-3 thriller in the reverse of this fixture, with Strasbourg winning 1-0 in the game here last season. The most recent clash here came in this seasons Coupe de France, with Montpellier coming out on top 2-0 in that one.

Mohamed Simakan is the only expected absentee for the home side. Pedro Mendes and Jonas Omlin are out injured for Montpellier, whilst both Téji Savanaier and Florent Mollet are suspended.

Strasbourg head into this without a win in four, but did pick up a decent point away at Marseille last time out. They have won only four of 17 at home this season, scoring more than once only our times, and in none of their last five here.
Montpellier haven't been firing on all cylinders either and head into this without a win in five. They have been very solid on the road so far this season though, with just the four defeats in 17, conceding one or fewer in six of their last seven.

Strasbourg need the points more, but are up against a generally very well organised Montpellier outfit here and may just have to settle for a point.

Goals:
36 minutes 0-1 (Gaetan Laborde): Junior Sambia sending a corner in from the right-hand side. Laborde muscling in towards the right corner of the six-yard box to send an excellent header in to the left-hand side.

46 minutes 0-2 (Andy Delort): A launched clearance from Hilton turning into a through ball over the top that the Strasbourg defence failed to deal with. Delort onto it in the right of the area and producing a nice lobbed volleyed finish from around 12-yards.

49 minutes 0-3 (Gaetan Laborde): A cross in from the right-hand side not being dealt with. Twice nodded up into the air, Laborde was onto it the second time, and brilliantly so, sending an overhead kick into the top right corner from 12 yards out to the right of centre.

69 minutes 1-3 (Ludovic Ajorque): A throw in from the left sparking something of a scramble. A scuffed effort breaking for Ajorque in the right corner of the six-yard box, with the forward getting there just before the outrushing keeper to stab home.

90+5 minutes 2-3 (Kevin Zohi): Zohi found in the left of the area, cutting back inside across the box and curling a lovely 16-yard finish into the top right corner0.

Analysis: From looking at the stats it seems a wonder that Strasbourg managed to lose this one, with the hosts leading the way almost across the board. In truth though most of those positive stats were racked up when they were already 3-0 down, as Montpellier understandably began to sit back a little. That said, the hosts probably did manufacture enough chances late that Montpellier couldn't have complained too much had they been hauled back.

League Standings: Strasbourg fifth bottom and one point clear of the drop zone. Montpellier eighth on the back of this.
